ANYONE taking part in the water bottle challenge or water bottle flipping in my classroom will be sent immediately to the AP office. This is the only warning I will give.
Monday, January 23rd
Make sure all storyboards have been turned in
Remember your PSA storyboard has to be complete enough that someone could pick it up and film your PSA without you
If you worked with someone make sure to have all names on the paper
Final Exam Review--You are welcome to work in a small group or alone
The information for the final exam is posted on the Classroom
Feel free to print anything that might help you
Review your notes so you can give specific examples using specific topics from class
If this were ME and I was getting prepared for the final this is what I would do
Print the questions
Print the topic suggestions rubric from the Classroom
Look them over and see what I know specifically and what I could talk more in depth about
Look back over the wiki starting at the bottom and look at the topics we covered
Write them under the question that they apply to
Review my notes saved in my Google Drive
Add specific vocab and information to each topic under each question
Go to the Classroom and look at assignments that have been completed.
Brainstorm current media I watch/listen to/view
Write these under each question
To get an A you need to be specific and use vocab and YOUR OWN examples for the questions. This should be written in the first person so it should contain things like "I think, I did, I feel"
If you are unsure, ASK me, I am here to answer questions and to help
1st Hour--Your final exam is tomorrow morning
4th Hour--Your final exam is on Wednesday
1st Final: 7:45am-9:14
2nd Final: 9:19-10:47am
Tuesday, January 17th-Friday, January 20th
No Bellwork this week
PSA Project
With a small group, you are going to create a PSA for a topic important to teenagers (think about things like tolerance and other issues facing youth)
The PSA must have 10 shots and be able to be filmed in one continuous shot (so you cannot have different locations)
There must be a variety of shots
Through the images and the sounds/dialoge the PSA must educate the viewer on a top
A story board must be completed, in color showing the entire PSA
The number in a group depends on the plan for your PSA
Make sure to choose group members wisely
We will be working on this all week
We will NOT be filming the PSA project so your storyboard has to contain enough details for someone to come in and film your PSA without you there. If you need to add additional information/notes/directions you can use the margin or a different piece of paper.
Monday in class we will be review for the final exam. Those of you who would like to refresh yourself over the weekend, the questions and suggestions are posted in the Classroom.
Wednesday--When you are given a rubric or assignment details, do you review the requirements prior to turning it in? Why or why not?
Thursday--Have you heard of the Amazon Echo? Do you have one?
Friday--What do you plan to do Monday?
10 Shot Story of the 3 Little Pigs--This can be done alone or with a partner.
Create a storyboard for 10 shots of the story of the Three Little Pigs--It is impossible (or very difficult) to do the entire story in 10 shots so pick part of the story
Remember a new shot is each time what is in the scene changes so this might be a very short part of the story.
Make sure you have a variety of shots from your note sheet to keep it interesting
Also include what is HEARD on the lines below
It must have color and it must be clear what part of the story this is about
If you have NOT paid for your field trip spot, please plan to pay by Friday. If you cannot, please talk to Mrs. Ferris to make arrangements for a payment plan. The field trip is NEXT Wednesday
NO Videos will be accepted after break. All videos must be completed in class and before break begins.

Must get have a DETAILED script/plan submitted and approved by Mrs. Ferris--As in who is saying what and where will you film (A script should be done and submitted for approval no later than MONDAY, though the end of class Friday would be nice)
The newscast must have:
Anchor to introduce the stories
A reporter to report them
At least 2 stories are covered (if you have 3 people you need 3 stories and 4 people will require 4 stories)
Anchor will introduce them and the report will tell the story
1 teaser for a story that will come later in the newscast
Must be filmed either with a phone or Mrs. Ferris' camera
The news must be exciting, fast paced and school appropriate and at least one story must be Thurston Related
Since we will not have any violence, it is important to make your story important and informational. It does not need to be 100% true though
You can use props and things as needed
If any group is reported to be misbehaving while filming, the group grade will be lowered.
I am trusting you to be on your best behavior when you film
A few group rules:
Headphones serve NO purpose in a group and mean you are not working with the group (this will lower your individual grade)
Cell phones and other electronics have no purpose unless it is for filming (again, this can lead to a lower grade)
Be a team player!!

Project:
You read and looked at 2 newspapers last week that talked about the debate. In most cased the tone of the article was different. Some were negative, some where positive towards on candidate or the other but all sent a message of some kind.
You are going to create a visual presentation using Animoto to demonstrate the tone or overall message from one of your 2 newspapers
You will need 10-12 images that show the tone (these can be any images)
One place to look other than Google Images is pixabay.com
Once you have your images go to Animoto.com and create a free account (remember, use your personal email)
Build a video presentation showing the tone of the newspaper you selected
You must give your presentation a title and include your name
You must have at least 10 images demonstrating the tone and overall feel of the article
Make sure the images you select tell a story and work together
You can add word slides to help explain things.
